I am thy father's spirit;
  Doom'd for a certain term to walk the night
    And, for the day, confin'd to fast in fires,
      Till the foul crimes, done in my days of nature,
        Are burnt and purg'd away.
      - [Ghosts]

I am wrapped in dismal thinking.
      - [Ennui]

I and my bosom must debate awhile, and then I would no other company.
      - [Thought]

I beseech you,
  Wrest once the law to your authority:
    To do a great right, do a little wrong.
      - [Justice]

I came, saw, and overcame.
      - [Victory]

I can call up spirits from the vasty deep.--
  --Why so can I, or so can any man;
    But will they come, when you do call for them?
      - [Ghosts]

I can counterfeit the deep tragedian;
  Speak and look back, and pry on every side,
    Tremble and start, at wagging of a straw,
      Intending deep suspicion.
      - [Acting]

I can easier teach twenty what were good to be done, than be one of the twenty to follow mine own teaching.
      - [Counsel]

I can get no remedy against this consumption oil the purse; borrowing only lingers and lingers it out, but the disease is incurable.
      - [Economy]

I can smile, and murther while I smile.
      - [Smiles]

I charge thee, fling away ambition:
  By that sin fell the angels.
      - [Ambition]

I could a tale unfold whose lightest word
  Would harrow up thy soul, freeze thy young blood,
    Make thy two eyes, like stars, start from their spheres,
      Thy knotted and combined locks to part
        And each particular hair to stand on end,
          Like quills upon the fretful porpentine.
      - [Fear]

I crave fit disposition for my wife;
  Due reference of place, and exhibition;
    With such accommodation, and besort,
      As levels with her breeding.
      - [Wives]

I did not think to shed a tear
  In all my miseries; but thou hast forc'd me,
    Out of thy honest truth, to play the woman.
      - [Tears]

I do defy him, and I spit at him;
  Call him--a slanderous coward, and a vil-lain:
    Which to maintain, I would allow him odds;
      And meet him, were I ty'd to run a-foot,
        Even to the frozen ridges of the Alps.
      - [Defiance]

I do find it cowardly and vile,
  For fear of what might fall, so to prevent
    The time of life.
      - [Suicide]

I do hate a proud man, as I hate the engendering of toads.
      - [Pride]

I do know when the blood burns, how prodigal the soul lends the tongue vows.
      - [Promises]

I do not like this fooling.
      - [Jesting]

I do present you with a man of mine.
  Cunning in music and the mathematics,
    To instruct her fully in those sciences.
      - [Teaching]

I dreamt my lady came and found me dead,
  (Strange dream! that gives a dead man leave to think),
    And breath'd such life with kisses in my lips
      That I reviv'd and was an emperor.
      - [Dreams]

I drew this gallant head of war,
  And cull'd these fiery spirits from the world,
    To outlook conquest and to win renown
      Even in the jaws of danger and of death.
      - [War]

I durst, my lord, to wager she is honest,
  Lay down my soul at stake: if you think other,
    Remove your thought; it doth abuse your bosom.
      If any wretch hath put this in your head,
        Let heaven requite it with the serpent's curse!
          For, if she be not honest, chaste, and true,
            There's no man happy: the purest of their wives
              Is foul as slander.
      - [Fidelity]

I earn that I eat, get that I wear; owe no man hate, envy no man's happiness; glad of other men's good, content with my harm.
      - [Contentment]

I feel within me a peace above all earthly dignities, a still and quiet conscience.
      - [Conscience]
