So many hours must I take my rest;
  So many hours must I contemplate.
      - [Time]

So many miseries have craz'd my voice,
  That my woe-wearied tongue is still and mute.
      - [Woe]

So they
  Doubly redoubled strokes.
      - [Golf]

So weary with disaster's tugg'd with fortune,
  That I would set my life on any chance,
    To mend, or be rid on't.
      - [Life]

So work the honey-bees;
  Creatures, by a rule in nature teach
    The art of order to a peopled kingdom.
      They have a king and officers of sorts;
        Where some, like magistrates, correct at home;
          Others, like merchants, venture trade abroad;
            Others, like soldiers, armed in their stings,
              Make boot upon the summer's velvet buds;
                Which pillage they, with merry march, bring home,
                  To the tent royal of their emperor;
                    Who, busied in his majesty, surveys
                      The singing masons building roofs of gold;
                        The civil citizens kneading up the honey;
                          The poor mechanic porters crowding in
                            Their heavy burdens at his narrow gate;
                              The sad-ey'd justice, with his surly hum,
                                Delivering o'er to executors pale
                                  The lazy yawning drone.
      - [Bees]

Society is no comfort to one not sociable.
      - [Society]

Some kinds of baseness are nobly undergone.
      - [Baseness]

Some must watch while some must sleep, so runs the world away.
      - [Care]

Some smack of age in you, some relish of the saltness of time.
      - [Age]

Sometimes from her eyes I did receive fair speechless messages.
      - [Eyes]

Sometimes we are devils to ourselves,
  When we will tempt the frailty of our powers,
    Presuming on their changeful potency.
      - [Frailty : Temptation]

Sorrow ends not when it seemeth done.
      - [Sorrow]

Sorrow, like a heavy ringing bell, once set on ringing, with its own weight goes; then little strength rings out the doleful knell.
      - [Grief]

Speak no more:
  Thou turn'st mine eyes into my very soul;
    And there I see such black and grained spots
      As will not leave their tinct.
      - [Self-examination]

Speak of me as I am; nothing extenuate, nor set down aught in malice.
      - [Malice]

Speaks three or four languages word for word without a book.
      - [Linguists]

Spirits of peace, where are ye? are ye all gone?
  And leave me here in wretchedness behind ye?
      - [Spirits]

Splitting the air with noise.
      - [Blustering]

Stabbed with a white wench's black eye.
      - [Eyes]

Stands Scotland where it did?
      - [Scotland]

Stealing her soul with many vows of faith;
  And ne'er a true one.
      - [Falsity]

Steep'd me in poverty to the very lips.
      - [Poverty]

Still as the peaceful walks of ancient night; silent as are the lamps that burn on tombs.
      - [Silence]

Stones have been known to move and trees to speak.
      - [Wonder]

Strike, brave boys, and take your turns.
      - [Golf]
